What does a match percentage mean?

A match percentage summarises how well a profile corresponds to a job ad. It becomes useful when you can see what raises and lowers the score.

The score is decision support

A high score means that several important requirements appear to match. It does not guarantee an interview or employment and can never replace your own judgement.

Look behind the number

Check which requirements are confirmed, unclear or missing. Pay particular attention to mandatory licences and experience not clearly shown in your CV.

  • Role and experience level
  • Skills and tools
  • Education and licences
  • Location, language and work arrangement

Use the result actively

Clarify weak or unclear parts of your CV and cover letter, but only change what is true. A lower match can also help you quickly rule out the wrong role.
