How do you know if a job is right for you?
You rarely need to meet every line in a job ad. What matters is which requirements are essential and how well you can demonstrate relevant potential.
Start with the core requirements
If you can handle the tasks, have relevant core skills and can demonstrate similar results, it is often worth applying.
- Mandatory certificates and licences
- Actual level of experience
- Language and location requirements
Separate requirements from preferences
Words such as 'desirable', 'preferably' and 'ideally' often signal flexibility. A missing preference can be offset by related experience.
Assess the whole picture
Use the match score as decision support, not as a final answer. Always read the explanation and verify anything unclear yourself.
